Kampala Prayer Hall

Design is not just what it looks like & feels like. Design is how it works.

Project Details

Located at Latitude 0.3156°, Longitude 32.5656°, and oriented at 18.090°, this masjid spans a built-up area of 43,863 square feet. Its architectural concept is deeply inspired by the historic Al-Jamea al Anwar (Masjid Al-Hakim) in Cairo, Egypt, blending classical Islamic design with modern sensibilities. The structure pays homage to its roots while embracing innovation, resulting in a timeless yet contemporary identity that resonates with both heritage and progress.

The masjid’s design showcases majestic three-point arches and intricate parapet detailing that contribute to a grand and elegant elevation. Soft cream and beige tones lend a refined warmth to the façade, while the serene setting near water further enhances the atmosphere of spiritual tranquility, making it a peaceful sanctuary for worship and reflection.
